North Star Surfaces, LLC was formed in 1986
in order to take on an opportunity to establish a new business enterprise:
the distribution of an exciting, new, solid surface product called Avonite.
Within a few years, this small, boot-strapped operation became their
largest distributor. Known as The Avonite People,
North Star Surfaces was responsible for developing many of the
marketing and merchandising programs used by the Manufacturer. During
the ensuing years, product lines were added and deleted, but the effectiveness
of our people, the quality of our programs, and our brand-building
success continue to be viewed as the standard by which others within the
same industry are measured.
Today, North Star is recognized as a leading distributor of sustainable,
green interior building products used for counters, wall cladding,
cabinetry, furniture, and more. Our ability to launch new products and
build brand awareness within our primary market area is a principal
reason manufacturers of these sustainable products seek alignment with
North Star. We have launched a program called Whole Life Style
as a means to demonstrate our commitment to authenticity. We feel
this is necessary given the degree of significant green washing
taking place in the marketplace. Whole Life Style is a value
matrix with which to define the various shades of green. It
is North Stars commitment to bring quality, sustainable products
and services to the marketplace in a responsible and holistic manner.

North Star aggressively develops
business through both the residential and the commercial market
channels. While each channel is distinct and unique, our
people adapt to the opportunity and provide personalized service
through thoughtful, focused efforts. While we recognize the importance
of offering quality products, we know the defining difference
in a very competitive marketplace is the quality and commitment
of our people. Quality products are important, but products can
be imitated. The distinguishable and defining difference when
considering with whom to work lies in the people who make up the company.
When a problem or question arises, knowing that you can call the seller
with the confidence that you will be assisted professionally and in a
timely manner further enhances the value of the relationship you have with
your distributor.
