	April 16, 2009, San Francisco, CA— The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) honored Vetrazzo, LLC today during the 11th annual Environmental Awards Ceremony for their effort to protect and preserve the environment. Vetrazzo, chosen from over 200 nominees, manufactures recycled glass surfacing that is used as a sustainable alternative to granite and other quarried stone for countertops, tabletops and more.
	This year's winners and nominees have made superb efforts to protect and preserve our air, water and land, and increased awareness of the environmental challenges we all face.	The Region 9 Environmental Awards program acknowledges commitment to the environment and significant contributions made by businesses, local, government officials, tribes, media, environmental organizations
	and individuals. Forty groups and individuals were selected from over 200 nominees received this year from Region 9, which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Pacific Islands and tribal lands. “Being recognized by the U.S. EPA is a tremendous honor for us,” states James Sheppard, CEO and Co-Founder of Vetrazzo, LLC. “Our product creates a focal point for green building by boldly and visually demonstrating the value of recycling.
